As part of its efforts to enhance the academic and cultural activities of the French Language Department, a group of female students from the department participated in a literary gathering in the form of a workshop held at the Franco-German Institute in Ramallah on Thursday, January 8, 2026. The workshop was organized within the framework of the Choix de l’Orient competition, supervised by Dr. Bilal Al-Shaf’i through the course Introduction to French Literature.
The workshop was led by Mr. Guillaume Cariou from the French Consulate and focused on discussing a selection of novels included in the competition. Students from several Palestinian universities participating in the same competition attended, creating a rich cultural dialogue and exchange of ideas on Francophone literature. Mr. Cariou praised the students’ engagement and active participation.
This participation reflects the French Language Department’s commitment to linking academic courses with practical and cultural activities, contributing to the development of students’ skills and enhancing the department’s presence in Francophone events.
