The Department of Educational Sciences is one of the departments within the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences that was originally established in 1977. Since its establishment, the university administration has sought to develop it in alignment with a cultural vision that fulfills the university’s goals—namely, building strong connections with the community, fostering interactive and organic relationships among different faculties, and promoting cooperation among students across various fields of study and activities.

The Department of Educational Sciences is located on the old campus, where the administrative building features a solid infrastructure that includes laboratories with sufficient space and advanced equipment to meet the requirements of various courses. The department also conducts educational studies to serve Palestinian society in its areas of specialization. Through its projects and scientific activities, it actively contributes to strengthening engagement with the local community and prepares students for practical application before graduation, particularly in schools. The university has also established numerous research and specialized scientific centers and institutes in related fields to ensure integration between the department and Palestinian society.

The Department of Educational Sciences and Teacher Preparation at An-Najah National University offers a diverse range of specializations aimed at preparing qualified teachers capable of joining and working in local and Arab educational institutions. This is achieved through the provision of highly qualified academic and administrative staff.

The department strives to prepare educators as “human engineers” who possess the competencies needed to build a generation that acquires and applies knowledge, develops life skills, and embodies the principles of active citizenship.

The Department of Educational Sciences offers the necessary educational courses for a minor in education across various academic programs in different faculties at An-Najah National University.
