The northern qualifiers of the five-a-side football championship for institutions concluded at the sports hall of the sports complex at An-Najah National University. The event was organized by the Palestinian Sport for All Federation in partnership with the university, with the participation of nine institutions and unions from the northern governorates, in a competitive atmosphere marked by sportsmanship and excellent organization.
The championship concluded with Sports Village Company securing first place, followed by Engineers Syndicate – Jenin Branch in second place. Both teams, along with Engineers Syndicate – Nablus Branch and Al-Akhras Company, qualified for the central championship.
On the individual awards front, Khaled Shaaban from the Engineers Syndicate – Jenin Branch won the tournament’s Top Scorer award, while Osama Al-Sabah, goalkeeper of Engineers Syndicate- Tulkarem Branch, recieved the Best goalkeeper award.
Certified referees from the Referees Department of the Palestinian Football Association officiated the tournament matches, with the presence of Abdul Qader Eid representing the department.
The awards ceremony was attended by Mr. Raed Al-Dibai, Assistant to the University President for Community Affairs; Mr. Mohammad Aqrouq, representing the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; Mr. Ammar Malhem, Coordinator of the Sport for All Federation in the northern region; Dr. Suleiman Al-Amad, President of the Palestinian Football Association – Northern Branch and Coordinator of University Sports Facilities; along with members of the tournament’s technical committee: Rasheed Saleh, Khaled Al-Qarout, and Ms. Randa Al-Shalla, representing institutional and corporate sports in the Sport for All Federation.
The tournament concluded with a ceremony honoring both participating and winning teams, amid widespread praise for the organization, which reflected the fruitful cooperation between the Palestinian Sport for All Federation and An-Najah National University, and emphasized the role of sports in fostering community engagement and promoting fair competition values.
Mr. Ammar Malhem thanked the university administration for their cooperation and facilitation of the tournament, which contributed to its success and professional appearance. He also extended his appreciation to the Red Crescent teams for their attendance, readiness, and dedication to ensuring the safety of all participants throughout the event.
