Students Tala Odeh (Department of English, Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences) and Bisan Ji’an (Faculty of Information Technology) participated in organizing and facilitating an interactive workshop entitled “Voices of Palestinian Youth: Exchanging Experiences on Education,” in collaboration with theJagiellonian University Faculty of Philosophyand with the participation of students from diverse academic backgrounds.

The workshop was designed to present the outcomes of a research project conducted over a period of five months. It aimed to shed light on the experiences of Palestinian students in the face of challenges affecting access to education, through the creation of an interactive learning environment grounded in the exchange of knowledge and experiences among students.

The workshop included an overview of the general context of education in Palestine, in addition to a discussion of the most significant challenges faced by students, and an analysis of real-life stories and experiences reflecting their educational trajectories. It also provided a space for open discussion and direct interaction among participants, thereby fostering critical thinking and enabling a deeper understanding of how surrounding conditions influence educational opportunities.

The workshop emphasized the importance of building bridges of international academic collaboration, as well as the role of informal student relationships in supporting the exchange of experiences and enhancing learning opportunities. It also featured contributions from Dr. Mohammed Hamdan, Head of the Department of English at An-Najah National University, and Dr. Beata Kowalska, the academic coordinator of the research. Both emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the presence of Palestinian students in international academic spaces, supporting research collaboration, and building academic networks grounded in knowledge exchange and shared experiences.

This workshop reflects the significance of student-led initiatives in conveying the Palestinian experience and promoting academic dialogue at the international level.
