The program aims to graduate qualified teachers specialized in teaching the lower basic stage. In light of the Palestinian Ministry of Education’s tendency to appoint qualified teachers to work as “homeroom teachers” for the lower basic grades (first, second, third, and fourth), appropriate plans and courses have been developed in alignment with this direction. The program is also continuously developed, and its study plan is regularly updated following each evaluation.
There is a strong emphasis on practical courses. Students are required to complete 124 credit hours to obtain a bachelor’s degree, of which 90 credit hours are compulsory departmental requirements. These include courses in teaching methods, practicum (practical education), civic education, drama in education, and others.
The program provides students with opportunities for practical training in schools, enabling them—after graduation and entry into the workforce—to perform their duties effectively. It also offers students the opportunity to participate in various social and cultural activities that serve the local Palestinian community.
